High Sierras climb to Mt Gould

Late last July I woke up near Independence ready to climb Mt Gould via Onion Valley. It was a warm windy night in my mayan hammock and sleeping bag.

    Sunrise view towards Onion Valley.

On the trail to Kearsarge Pass.

    Mt Gould appears.

Reached the pass after five miles.

Looking north, there is 1,300 vertical feet of boulders and talus to climb. Finally approach the summit ridge.

Summit block Mt Gould, 13,005 feet.

Summit views towards high sierra Kings Canyon backcountry.

Heading back to Onion Valley, my hammock campsite somewhere on the desert valley floor.

Wow, that is some epic scenery. Views like that are hard to come by. Nice work looks like one heck of a climb.
    Directionally challenged...comicly so.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
