My cat loves to play with the straps or whoopies that dangle on the ground during set up, but she does not want to have anything to do with getting in the hammock, especially with me.

Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
I have been trying out a new UKHammocks top and underquilt combination and whilst the Down TQ (summer fill) was too hot for me on my indoor hang one of my cats in now obsessed with it.

I have one male and one female cat they know when it's time to go camping. They both follow me out to my campsite, stand guard while i set up the hammock. Bob has a camp chair that he sleeps on next to the front of the hammock while Eris just curls up at the base of the tree. Both will spend the night with me.
Holy crap! That's not an house cat, that's a yearling mountain lion!
More seriously, my cats don't generally mess with my gear when I'm outside (they're pretty neurotic: one's a crazy little old lady--12 years old--and doesn't like any changes to her environment; one's a big scaredy cat--at 17 lbs, he regularly loses fights to both of his 12-lb siblings and runs away at the slightest noise; and one's just too interested in hunting anything smaller than a moose that moves around the yard to mess with boring old me), thankfully. On the other hand, I always try to pull them inside before actually sleeping (as opposed to napping) out there, and I always make certain that they're inside when I'm treating with Permethrin.
