    TN>Roan High Knob>quick overnighter

Tired of 87F in town, trying to get ready for the big trip, we squeeze in a short overnighter on the Roan.
I tried to use the Underground Quilts 20F top quilt but it only got to 48F for the low and the quilt was roasting me-so I stripped down to wool top and bottom, closed the seep on the HNO Airship and was cozy.
Typical of RHK, high winds/zephyrs/splattering rain all night long.
BIG NEWS- peach cobbler via the Batchstovez Baking Pots, a Caldera Cone Fusion for the Batchstovez, and the Flatcat Stove Epicurean Esbit burner...a huge huge freeking huge success. I've honestly never tasted anything in the woods that good...we ran two cones for two cobblers practicing for running 3 cones on the upcoming LBL trip.
We did pay homage to the two trees Wisenber hung from on the last RHK High and Colder hang

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Great vid as always! You two are an awesome team in the woods.

And hey, that peach cobbler even smelled good from here!

I'm jealous MM and Poof. 45 minutes vs my 7 hours. I miss the highlands.
    Great vid. Keep'um coming.

If you get a chance come over to the Grayson Fall Festival and hang a night with us (Sept 27-29).

R3l@x would love to bake for you! Gear is great but what good is it if it not getting out there
Rockdawg69 thanks for the invite, but will be 6000 miles from here then
Klaussinator I do with they'd come up with a way to put smells in video, between the cinnamon and the evergreens it was a smell to be had.
    Cool Nighthauk glad you watched.

That looked like a great trip, foggy or not. That backing system is working better and better. I'm glad the Bonfire kept you warm. Do you think you would have been okay without the pad?

    Hey guys,

That was a great trip report. The trees are just like we have here in Newfoundland, Canada. Very dense forests. The peach cobbler looked awesome ! The photos you both took were very nice. I like the one with the sunrays coming down through the trees.
    Take care,
    Bluefin
