    Talking my first whoopie!!

Just made my first whoopie using Dynaglide. It was a lot easier than i thought it would be. I made a short one about 4ft just incase i screwed up. Now i see where the addiction begins! ill make a full six foot version then move on to UCRs. Dutch get ready for another order!

I was gonna use the Dynaglide for bear bag line (because the zing-it cut in to my hands when hoisting) but now i have different plans!

Congrats Yooz85 - I will be doing my first shortly as well. So sounds like a great thread for afirst timer to ask:
    Any tips?
    Pitfalls to watch out for?
Things you would have done different?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just got done making a full length set (roughly 6ft). Like i said before, its a lot easier than i first thought. Using whoopie slings for years i already under stood the concept and somewhat of the design so that helped. But i also looked at a couple tutorials and youtube vids.

This one was my go to-

step by step instuctions, but my only advice since i'm still a noob to splicing, is just take your time don't rush through it!

p.s. I used a B string from a guitar, the high E had to much flex and the wound cords catch when making the burys.

I just bought 50' of Amsteel 7/64" today at the local West Marine ($0.28/ft., $14.98 after tax!).

I plan to make a whoopie sling suspension set up for my Woot hammock, then an adjustable ridgeline. The videos make it look easy, so here's hoping it is!

while the addiction to splicing and making cool bits can be fun I find that for things like bear bags I like 1/8 polyester braided sash cord. It can handle the weight, does knots, and is a lot easier on the hands. ;-) YMMV

GoodlucK! remember just take your time and dont rush it! also try the UCR for the ridgeline. I have one of Dutch's on my GTUL and love it so easy and only one cord which make it easy to adjust with a ridgeline organizer attached.

I don't know what UCR means, and GTUL = Grand Trunk Ultra Light?
