Took my girlfriend on a dayhike to see Sougahoagdee Falls this weekend. As we walked around the bluff behind the falls I was looking at the rock and thinking, wow, neat colors and patterns ... hey that kinda looks like .... SNAKE! ... we backed away quickly, but what we saw looked like a huge copperhead and it had been about a foot from my face
I calmed down and took a picture, but left the snake all alone behind the falls. I noted that the head looked small and rounded, not at all like most copperheads I've seen.
Take a look at the attached picture and tell me what you think. If you look close, I think you'll agree, it's actually TWO Northern Watersnakes.
