I am noob and only been in the hammock in the back yard and have yet to sleep out in anything lower then 60 degrees. However depending on schedule it would be fun to make this even if I get a little cold.

I'd definitely like to make my 2nd IA Fall Hang. My best weekend of the two is 1-3 as I have to work on the 16th. Make it whichever weekend is best for everybody, and I'll try to switch my work weekends if needed.
Hope you can make it. It will be a good time!

Welcome Pope. I don't think there is any required gear but there is some needed gear. The average temp for north east Iowa is 50 for a high and mid 20 for a low. My temp source comes from Google. lol Get on YouTube and see what the rest of the hangers are using. Hint: (Shugemery) Most are under quilts and Over quilt. Some are pads with a sleeping bag. If I was a betting man, which I am. I bet a good sleeping bag and a good pad and some warm clothes would get you thru the weekend. If all else fails. You always have your car to sleep in.

Thanks for the info and the quick response. Working both of those weekends. Cant wait to hear the stories and reports from the trip. Enjoy the hang.
I usually know if I can get out about two weeks prior so I will be watching this thread. I also just purchased a zero degree HG top quilt so I'm ready for the cold.
I'm about a 40% likely to go on either weekend, but I'll be following the thread in hopes that I can make it happen.

i do not remember the question, however i believe beer is the answer
Thinking that if there is a night that we aren't too far from the vehicles I'd like to make a thanksgiving dinner in the woods.....complete with a trash can turkey! Haven't done it since my boy scout days, but I think it'd be fun!
