    My 1.1 is here!

So I ordered 4 yards of the black 1.1 from DIYgearsupply, and it just showed up. Took it out of the bag and it weighs 258g, roughly 9.1oz. I am thinking about taking 6" off, leaving me 3 inches on each side for my whipping, and then I will still have an 11ft hammock. I am hoping that with my dynaglide UCR's that I got from Caveman and a zing-it SRL I can still come out under 10oz.

Probably won't heat seal the edges, as I plan on them being hidden in my hem. But here is a crappy picture from my phone of it just out of the shipping bag. It feels thicker and more durable than I expected, so that is a good thing!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

+1 on what rocketBoy said. I like to see the Big Brown Truck or the USPS vehicle in my drive.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

This was USPS, so I feel lucky that it got here

Aaaand a small update for the night! I got 7" trimmed off the length of the blank, so now I am working with 11'5". So I will do a 1/2" rolled hem on each side, leaving me 3" to play with. I decided that I will do the knotty mod, so once I have the hems to use as my channels, I should have more than enough "wiggle room" to end up with an 11-footer after I fold over the gathered ends and whip them.

For the record, it was quite painstaking to follow the edge between two of the squares on black ripstop with a razor blade

I forgot to mention that after trimming the weight of my blank dropped to 242g, roughly 8.5oz! This sub-10oz hammock appears to be a reality for me! Without sacrificing comfort, and in all probability adding some, as this will also be my longest hammock by over a foot!

11' is a good length. How wide are you going to go?

BTW...I never heat seal my edges either and haven't had any problems.

It's 64" wide, but since I am doing a 1/2" rolled hem on each side I guess it will end up being 62"

I definitely will. Even if they are just crummy pics on my cell phone. My new straps from readystrap came in yesterday, too. So I have my UCR's, have my adjustable RL, and will make a dogbone RL out of zing-it once I find my sweet spot. It turns out my polypro straps are just over an ounce lighter than these new polyester ones, but I also think they are about 6" shorter. At any rate, all I need to do is finish the hammock and I will be completely good to go with my new rig. Then I guess my next project will be sewing a bishop bag for it
