Thanks. I'm back to spikes, gaiters and trail runners for Saturday. The Neos will be at the trailhead just in case.

Great intel guys, much appreciated. Certainly not the worse conditions, perhaps the neos & spikes get a ride in the pack but they will be in the pack..

Very cold on top, 16Fish...loved the Neos for warmth. Microspikes will be hitching a ride on the outside of the pack.
Shame is I spent some time building a pulk-pack, or a pack-pulk and really wanted to give it a go. No snow=no go.

Medicineman...Sorry to hijack the thread for a quick question but, are there any areas up there with more snow? Looking at doing a car camping trip this weekend with some friends. We are looking for some snow but not multiple feet of it. I spoke with a ranger at the Roan Mt. State park and she suggested Twin Springs. Any help?
