So, I finished up my diy 1.9 ripstop hammock and wondered what you all think. I know it is heavy but it's the best I can find at Joann's for 40% off. I stitched the center 30 inches together to make "pockets" for the sleeping pad. It is 11 feet long . I also added a tie out near my head to give a bit more room and sewed in some shock cord for the foot box. I am using homemade whoopie slings and tree straps. Thanks to all of you for the many hours of reading and sharing so many great ideas! I also posted some pics of my diy bugnet and another old hammock that I made. There is one with a homemade reflectix "under quilt" in there as well. I have yet to try it out as here in Iowa it has been terribly hot lately.
