    Head or foot?

First time Hammock user and have what could potentially be a dumb question.

I got the hammock with the side zip instead of 'birth canal' entrance and had one question - is there a 'head' end and a 'foot' end, or does it not matter with the zip entrance?

It's an asymmetrical shape so either head by the zipper one way or feet by the zipper the other way. Try zipper and head to the left side first . Then see what you like first

Since there's no slit, the only way that you are "doing it wrong" is if you're not comfortable.

Try both ends and different diagonals to see what works best for you.

There is one other part to the equation though. If the zipper is split and can open both directions, make sure that you have the pulls closed within easy arm's reach from inside. If it only pulls one way, it's most convenient, for me anyway, to have the pull on the head end.

    Have fun!

I feel less like an idiot now. My test night I slept with the zipper on my right side once inside the hammock. I kept sliding down towards my feet, but that was more due to my lack-of-trees in backyard which meant there was more line on the foot side stretching over to a tree then on the head side.

Going camping proper tomorrow night, so will find two good trees and give both ways a try! Thanks for the speedy responses.
