    Question Who came up with the name Whoopie Sling?

    Where did this name come from?

    im almost positive its a nautical term from boats

    I think you both may be right. (Un)Stepping masts may have been the first use though. Could be a chicken or egg question.

    Raw material vs. finished product? Who used it first?

    I thought it had something to do with Opie's name since he was the first to market/introduce it as a hammock suspension....WhoOpie Slings
