My BiL's entire scout troop is a "hanging" troop... they love it.

I am hanging at our Cub Scout camp out Saturday night. First time any of them have seen a hammock. Should be interesting to see their reactions as well as the other leaders reactions.

I've been hanging for about 18 months with our Pack. My son (a Webelos Scout who will cross over in February) has been hanging longer than that (almost 2 years).

We've got 4-5 others (Scouts and Leaders) converted in our pack.

In the troop he'll cross over to this year, a lot of the boys hang, and several of the adults hang. The hammock-friendly attitude was one of the reasons my son chose this troop.

I just started hammock camping, and am an Asst. Scoutmaster for our local troop. Last weekend we went on a canoeing trip and I showcased my gear. We had a small group, and everyone got to take a turn in the hammock for a few minutes, and it was enough for most of them to begin to appreciate the benefits of hanging, so we may have some converts in the near future.

My daughter bought her first hammock today, and we installed eye bolts in her ceiling so she can replace her bed... so the bug is highly contagious... groundlings be aware =]

I started Hammock camping after our Scoutmaster showed us his setup one trip.I like it so far,it took a trip to see the difference.I think it's starting to gain interest in the troop.
