That's a bit of a ride, though if I can figure out a mountain route instead of down 99 it could be fun....might have to make it a multiple day trip with a warm up camp night on the way down

You are welcome anytime to ride in for a guided hang camp (schedule permitting). I'd think a Pass ride would keep you off 99 or a short jaunt on it to the Sequoias.
For most I suspect about 200 to 400 miles (max) is reasonable. That's why the coast seemed like a good fit...if a suitable to hammocks spot can be found. Since early interest seems to be from Stockton and Sacramento y'all might be the determining factor in final location.
Any So Cal folk here?
Apparently the SoCal folks are an endangered species. I may just have to take you up on a trip down that way.
No huge rush so them So Cal folk can jump in at their leisure. I'm not keen on camping anywhere that can freeze your water overnight and will not allow campfires. The best spots I camp in are all at or above 7500 ft and it is real brisk up there now. Might be good to look more toward Spring when campfires are allowed.
Well West Coast is not only Cali.. Northern Cali/Southern Oregon would open up to many more hangers and give the added plus of well... Trees... Just a thought.

This is true, I'm not opposed to a ride up north either. Especially if there are others to share the miles with along the way.
It's a thought but I am not keen on setting a hang so far North that the average Central/South Cal rider/cager (walkers) might be put off. Frankly in my physical condition a ride to Eugene would take about 3 to 4 days (need/like to smell the flowers these days). Maybe a Pacific North Wet moto hang is also in order.
fair enough, but if you made it up as far as Eureka I know a stack from Portland and Seattle and maybe a few from BC that would go that far. It was just an idea lol.

Perhaps I will plan something up that way as well then. Sounds like fun.
