I look forward to this answer, as I've had this question for a long time. This functionality would be a GREAT help, especially in the PIF thread.

Couple of possibilities depending on what exactly you mean.

From a threads list, to the left of the thread title is a down arrow icon, clicking that will take you to the first unread post in the thread.

Then in the last post column, the [>] icon will take you to that most recent post.

If you're trying to get to a specific post within a given thread, for example to link to in in another post, look in the upper right corner there there is a post # link. Remainder of original post removed cause it wasn't right.

If you hover your cursor over the page numbers at the top right, it pops up a bubble to tell you what post number range is on that page.

The format is https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showpost.php?p=[post/thread number]&postcount=[number within thread]. So for this particular thread your first post is https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...10&postcount=1. Assuming that nobody else beats me to it, my reply will be https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...10&postcount=2. If you wanted to jump to an arbitrary post number within a thread, just change that postcount=# part in your browser's URL field. For example if you're trying to read a huge thread like the TurtleDog Stand one and see somebody mention say post 55 and you're currently looking at post 300 you could just quick add &postcount=55 and jump to that post.
Darn it, didn't work they way I thought. Looks like you're stuck with having to already know the post's long number rather than just that it's #5 in the thread Grabbing the link from the upper right corner of a given reply does work though, you just can't easily change the number to go from reply x to y because the actual post number is something different.

That was my exact reason. It would be nice to look at the PIF spreadsheet and see post number XXXX listed, then enter that post number some where, and poof, like magic it takes you there. I swear I have seen this in other forums....I think....maybe.....am I crazy?

You can also use the Search This Thread button to search for a particular member's posts within the thread. Under the Advanced Search Options, you can search for a post by time (yesterday, a week ago, a year ago, etc.) Unfortunately, searching "Post #x" does not work!

    AhHA!

In the thread, go to the url:

    Screen shot 2013-09-14 at 6.55.03 AM.png

Type "&post#x" at the end of the url (in this example, I'm looking for Post #25):

and hit enter or reload page. VOILA!!! Good luck!

    Edit:

Back the truck up: This doesn't work in the PIF thread, for some reason! DOH!

Okay, now I know how it works, I have wondered about the same thing. I spend too much time using the Search function, but the I tend to get sidetracked.

Well, one more if you know a specific post # you are looking for: in your browser, go to the "find" function. For example, in Firefox, upper left hand corner click on Firefox, then click on "find".

The find bar appears at the bottom. Type in 25( or whatever number) or better yet #25. If you leave out # and just type 25, you may have to click next a time or two to get to the exact 25 you are looking for.
