Pls help recommend light hammock for tropical rain forest.

When I searched for "Thailand Hammocks", there were several sites. In that country, to have something sewn, you would just need a diagram to show to the seamstress.

I'm confused as to why you would want to buy something manufactured elsewhere, unless it had to do with thread strength. In some countries, having merchandise shipped in, has problems with duties if the product is in competition with local products. Good luck on your bike trips.

As already mentioned, the Dream Hammock Darien Ultralight was designed for Panama, which has similar climate and bugs to Thailand.

He's asking for something light enough for bicycle touring, I couldn't find anything on the website that mentions weight or packed size.

Here is a guy out of your neck of the rainforest. I use his tarp and am much pleased. I have heard good things about his jungle hammock designed especially for the tropics by some that use them there.

That is probably why it hasnt been mentioned... he asked for light and compact and that is a few pounds heavier. Something like the dream hammock with a tadpol would be complete setup for less then 2lbs.

I took my Warbonnet Blackbird through the jungles in Costa Rica. I'm tall so the extra room was much appreciated. Also gave me a bit more breathing room inside. I tried the Hennessy SUL, but felt a little too claustrophobic.
Strongly recommend treating it with Permetherin beforehand & bringing a little insulation. Never dreamed I'd be cold at 75'.
