Glad to find the forum. I'm moving from a tent to hammocks, and find this site (and Shug's videos) very helpful.
Of course, here in Texas we have entire time zones without trees, so I will never be completely off the ground, but the new job gives me an extra 15 days off a year, so I'm hoping to take longer trips to Arkansas and Missouri into the woods.
Also, from May to September its very warm, often 90-95 degrees at night, so I'm not too concerned about keeping warm. Any ideas about evaporative coolers for a hammock?
Next multi-day trip looks to be the Eagle Rock Loop solo in AR in November. I also do a log of overnights with my son (6 yrs old) and recently took over as an Outpost Leaderfor my church's Royal Rangers post (a church-based version of Boy Scouts founded by the Assemblies of God denomination). We'll be moving to more camping and camp craft in the post, and I expect several people will get interested when they see my hammock systems.
I'm moving to a over/under rig when packing with my son, so expect some questions on how to customize the setup. Right away I need to make a bug net that will cover both hammies.
Finally, I also like to bike pack (unsupported and partial-credit card touring when suitable campsites aren't in range) and occasionally camp out of a canoe or expedition kayak.
