An Old Newbie Living in Nashville.

I won't spin a yarn, I am an old new person to hammock camping. I am retired, yet am new - so that is me.
Like many, I have spent countless hours roaming the woods, streams and lakes of our United States. I have had a love affair with hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing, and etc for my lifetime; just don't tell my partner, she would be jealous that something else holds my attention. So keep this on the qt
I am an out of shape lump of clay who needs encouragement to get back into shape for the sake of my health. I have health problems with added stress of my partner and doctors very vocally telling what I must do...Bah!
Any way, thanks for accepting me - talk/write sometime soon...

Hello and welcome to the forums from Indiana!

NOW GET MOVING! NOW! NOW! NOW! Thats about the only motivation I can give you long distance. Don't make me ride my bike to your house - that would take me 2 days. Way too much time for you to escape.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Howdy from Old Hickory. You need to check out Neo's hang next month at Meriwether Lewis National Park on the Natchez Trace. Lots of different hammocks to look at

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.

Welcome, you couldn't of chosen a better place to help motivate you. Many good folk here with so much expertise it's amazing. The older we all get the more we need to get out and just move...Hiking a trail is a great place to start..

Howdy from Shelbyville. If the pics from some of the trip reports don't motivate you to get back out there, I don't think anything will.

Welcome I share your love of the outdoors however my wife knows about it. I think that is why she keeps finding projects for me to do.

    Question

    Welcome also from Nashville.

You ever camp on the islands in Percy Priest Lake?
