Flambeau Kayak and Hang Trip September 2013

Hey guys! Getting pretty pumped to go on my first kayak and hammock hang trip! Wish It was gonna be warmer but i guess i get to also try cold weather hanging too! Suppose to be middle 60's during the day and 37-41 degrees at night. Going to the flambeau river near ladysmith, wi. Hoping on this trip i can convince my other buddies to buy one for our spring trip up to the flambeau.

just ordered some amsteel onfline and gonna try and make some whoopie slings. It is such a pain going back and forth trying to get them set even with nylon straps, so hopefully those get here before we leave!! I absolutely can't wait will take lots of pictures and post em when i get back!

(Btw been there about 5 times, but always tent camped...)

I have paddled the south fork about 3 times and the north fork about a dozen times. Beautiful river. Nice thing about this time of year is no bugs. Enjoy, lots of hanging options.

I haven't been down the Flambeau in almost thirty years. The last time down I wrapped our 17' aluminum canoe around the rocks at Beaver Dam. Folded it in half. But no matter. We flattened it out, stuffed a pop can in the split, and finished the paddle.

Have a great time, and post some photos.

I ran Beaver Dam rapids this last May with water about 4 ft. above normal. Was pretty exciting. Took a cheater route on the far right side. There were some big holes in that stretch of water.

Well the trip was awesome! Took a disposable camera so little longer process to upload pictures But, it was a amazing trip! The hammock was super comfortable and i managed to talk them both into trying hammock camping next year.
It got down to 33 degrees out and I had to take layers off! I was so warm i couldn't believe it. The fleece under quilt was the ticket for sure. It was as bulky as my sleeping bag but since we were kayaking i could afford the extra wait. Tomorrow I should have the pictures uploaded and I will give you a couple pics of the trip!
Btw your right it's not nearly as easy as I would of thought to find 2 trees that will work. But I managed
