I'm going to start pulling stuff out tonight, after my little guy goes to bed.Pulling my gear out now...hope it snows like the dickens but the reality is probably that it will be good and cold. I am also hoping a fire ban is lifted.
As much fun as snow would be, I'd rather it pour like crazy and wet everything down instead. I have an urge to cook meat over open flames, and that'll be difficult if we can't burn stuff.
Is someone bringing some sort of grill for the fire pit? If we have one and if the fire ban gets lifted Dan and I will pack in some sausages to grill up Saturday evening. How many people are we expecting?

The fire pits they installed in all of the sites have those flip over grills on them.
As of now, we're expecting roughly 12-13 people for Saturday night. But I don't put stock in numbers for this sort of thing until I'm sitting across the fire from all of them. Until then, all I know is that I'll be there.

They might not be flip off ... maybe they're fixed. But they do have grills. I distinctly remember setting up your Emberlit on top of it last time we were at Lower Forge.
Since it's Thanksgiving weekend, and it's supposed to be cold, I would recommend just trying to book a walk-up site at the ranger station at Batsto before you hike in, rather than reserving online.
I can't imagine that the camp will be fully booked, and you'll save yourself the $9 reservation fee you have to pony up online.
They are very nice grills - nothing but the best for the ReserveAmerica customer! Ever notice how the grills showed up at the same time they went to ReserveAmerica? Or that trees started getting cut down at the campsites around the same time?Looks like SS is already hitting the mezcal.
