Is this just online? Have you tried calling them, and trying to reserve multiple sites that way?

Just curious. I've only used the online system once since they implemented it. It was painless, though annoying, and the surcharge sticks in your craw. But that's an argument for another time/thread.

We tried everything that we could think of including calling 4 different times before we got someone who could help us thru the setup so that the troop could pay for the sites.

Not to add fuel to the fire but that surcharge is per site. For example if you stay at 2 different sites(Batona Friday night and then lower forge Saturday night)you will pay that surcharge twice for the weekend. But like you said another time, another thread.

I'm interested in this hang. My kids will be away, so it will just be me.

So far only eight interested, so we don't have to worry about numbers. However, if numbers get too high for Lower Forge, we could always think about Mullica River or Batona Camp.

Heck, I'd be willing to sleep at Mullica, hike over to Lower Forge for dinner/campfire, then night hike back to Mullica. Who's with me?

    Hey, why not?

Though I have no idea which sites are hang friendly at Mullica. We might have to plan an overnight to go find out

I'm game - Fall NEHHA was the first group hang I ever went to where I didn't hike at all (well, other than a mile jaunt). I need to give the legs a workout ASAP. Atsion to Mullica sounds like a fine hike to me.

I believe Mullica has more options for trees, to my recollection, and it's got a water pump, which is cool.

Sites 4 and 8 are good sites. 4 is near the pump (3-5 hammocks). 8 is off to the side and more secluded than the rest of the sites (3-4 hammocks). If I remember right only sites 5 and 10 would be hard pressed to hang in.
