Suspension point in FJ Cruiser ceiling

Here's one I've not seen before.

While looking at my ARB awning extended, I couldn't help but brainstorm how to hang a hammock under it. The awning is only 7' long, so that rules out hanging from the roof rack.
Anyway, with this 3" piece of L-track mounted to the roof bows, via 2 #14 sheet metal screws (weight tested, so far so good....) I can back up to a tree or light pole, extend the awning, sling the hammock, and have shelter.
I still don't have a photo of the whole setup, but I did this last night and haven't found a tree to back up to just yet...
The only issue i can think of is side protection, and the gap between the roof and awning. Should be OK....

    The awning:

What is that piece of hardware and where do you get one?

It's L-track, used for cargo tie-downs. We use miles of it in special needs school buses, so I grabbed a piece of scrap; each tie-down point is rated in the thousands of lbs; here's a link for some track stuff:
    http://www.cargoequipmentcorp.com/Se...tings-s/70.htm

As for strength, the roof beam I'm in is pictured below; it's only 16ga, but that makes the double-hat channel about as strong as 1" square tube.

I've still not had a chance to actually hang in a hammock from it, but I hung from it with a climbing harness and bounced (~230lb? I dunno, actually), and didn't notice or feel any play in the area, so that should be a 200% margin of error for the point.
I've got a 60x126" Silver tablecloth on the way for a color-matched car hammock

So, a million years later, I was car camping this weekend and got there last, and my other friends had taken the 3 perfect trees. I had to/got to try this system out...
    It works really well!
    Here the hammock:

Here's me passed out in the hammock (bug net and under quilt included this time)

the tiedowns may be rated for 1000's of lbs, but I doubt the roof is going to hold. Another excuse to get a roll bar....

    Or hang like this guy
