Sounds like fun. I would be interested although my availability wouldn't be until one of the last 2 weekends in NOV.

Ill keep an Eye on this and see how it develops. It would be nice to get out and do some hangin with some fellow hammockers for a change. Everyone I know that likes to camp think im nuts and wont go when it gets below 50 lol (that's the best time to camp imho)

IIRC, with a "Golden Age Pass", there is no entrance fee AND sites are half off.

What part of NOVA you live by. I am in sterling ( smack in between ashburn and Tysons corner) I would defintly be keen on this as my car has HG issues : /

It will be in attendance however, it is now called the [o]TTeR Recliner. You may have a hard time getting me out of it though. I may sell tickets for 15 minute rides though

I am with you, cold weather camping is the best

I just ordered some Lash-It and Stingerz from Dutch for the new Cuben tarp, he shipped them the same day and they should arrive Friday - awesome service!

I ordered my 1.5" straps from Arrowhead Equipment same day, but they said it usually takes a couple days before they ship, they custom make the straps to order.

We are camping in the C loop. Can't reserve sites after September so it's first come first serve. Once we get closer to the date and have a total head count we can plan on who ever gets there first books enough sites close to each other. We are limited to 2 cars per site. I don't think wood will be a problem, we can burn all the dead fall we can find and sometimes they even have wood cut up. That said, I would suggest bringing some wood just to be safe. It needs to be store bought and wrapped in plastic.

Which of the two campgrounds at Prince William Forest National Park will this event be located? The Turkey Run Ridge Group Campground or the Oak Ridge Campground?

OK, just checked and answered my own question... Oak Ridge Campground.

However, there is this warning on the Park Service website:

Temp. Closure C-Loop Bathroom
Due to sequestration cuts, the C-Loop bathroom at Oak Ridge Campground will remain closed. Please use the B-Loop restroom, a short walking distance away. We apologize for the inconvenience.
