I think it depends on whether we are planning on backpacking and camping or just basecamping.

I'd like to do a little packing/hiking. Last year we did John Schultz on Friday night and Hefferns Hill Saturday.

John Schultz is nice for people who come in a little later on Friday as it's only 20 to 30 minutes up the hill from the HQ.

You can make a lot of different length hikes to get to Brown's Hollow from John Schultz.

I'm thinking that sounds like a good plan.... Friday night at John Schultz and Saturday night at Browns Hollow. Anyone think that's a bad plan?

That works for me. Since I am new to the forum. I am not sure how the planning go's. I am happy to chip in and do my part. The Thanksgiving dinner in the woods sounds interesting. Do we have a menu? I can bring what ever is needed. Just let me know. I plan on being on site around 2 pm Friday.

I think John Schultz and Browns Hollow sounds like a good plan. Me and Dale will also be at the park by mid-afternoon on Friday. Is anyone planning to spend an extra day at the park? I'm considering taking Monday off work too.

@HikingDad - Let us know if you plan to do the Thanksgiving dinner thing, so we can work on contributions.

Just saw this today. I'll put in a request to get the time off work and try to make at least one of the days. I was just at YRSF a couple weeks ago and the Brown's Hollow creek was running strong and clear. Here is a quick vid I shot for last year's hang about the camp sites.

How about this 20gal. model? I can go pick it up tomorrow, if you like it.

That looks pretty good, but the galvanization will need to be burned off first.

If you are able to make it again this year, you need to remember to keep your phone off!

Yeah, I was wondering about the whole galvanized thing. How would a person burn off the galvanizing? I could get a fire good and hot and throw it in.
