    My sons first time.

My son decided to use his new Yukon Outfitters w/ bug net for a district Boy Scout camp this weekend.

They camped in a large field with no trees. This was his set up.

We figured out you can lay an extra sleeping bag in the hammock, clip it in place with a few large black paperclips, zip up the bug net, then flip it over. The bug net and clips held the bag in place as an under quilt. Sorry no pics of this, we had already started breaking camp.

I am assuming he brought the poles with him. Nice lashing, did you hang also?

I had planned on hanging, but my hammock didn't make it into my pack.

We had planned on setting up a third tripod with our feet sharing one, but instead, I spent a restless night on the ground.

The manager of the facilities where we camped was impressed with his setup. She told him that out of the 500+ scouts there, that this was the one thing that captured what she thought a scout camp should be.

This was also supposed to be our winter camp, called a Klondike Derby, but we have had an unusual winter here. There is almost no snow in the valleys.

Yep the lashing looks real nice.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
