I just got chastised for being in the woods during the Moonshine Festival and the Hillbilly Hog Throwdown.

I don't know what the bag you're making your KAQ out of is rated to but if you bring your pad as well you will likely be ok. If you'd like I can bring a sock that will add a bit of warmth for you.
Thanks, The bag is listed as 30 to -10 degrees but i'm not sure I think that is when your using all components of the sleep system I have just the one bag.
Thank you for the offer of the sock I think I should be fine. Since its not to far from the parking area I will bring a extra layer just in case.

Hello everyone. Im going to try to make it. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones.

I have been to Burrells Ford 3 or 4 times in the past 2 months. Hiking from the fish hatchery PL is an easier hike, not that its a hard hike from Burrells Ford bridge though. Im just sayin water flows downhill.

Anyways, New2Trees: its about 2 miles from the bridge, where there is no parking lot (on the SC side, there is a small parking lot on the GA side next to the bridge) but plenty of parking. if u park in the lot (with the outhouse/bathroom on the SC side) its about 3 to 3.5 miles to the east fork campsite. just letting u know so u don't get lost or confused.

Both ways (from the bridge or the fish hatchery PL) are awesome hikes and as of 2 weekends ago there were no major obstacles.

Basically, if u park at burrells ford walk up stream, if u walk past a hundred hammocks and cross a bridge u went too far. If u park at the fish hatchery PL, walk down stream if u make it 2 the Chattooga river back up 50 yards, cross the big bridge (over the east fork) and look for a hundred hammocks.

I live about 20 mins from here so if there is anything I could do to help or directions or anything just let me know. We could even try to shuttle people from FHPL to BFB (fish hatchery parking lot to Burrells Ford Bridge) so that we could hike one way. That's what ive been doing recently and find it enjoying not having to backtrack.

I apologize for the story I wrote. I just want to clarify/help any way that I can. Looking forward to it.

It is the Argon fabric. It is so nice and silky. I wish my top quilt was made of Argon. On another note, I always have trouble hanging my food bag, so this trip I'm going to double Opsak the food and tie it over by Doodad's set up. Do you think this will work?

Awesome can't wait to check it out. As far a your bear bag idea, yes I believe you will be just fine with that set up. Doodad on the other hand may have a very sleepless night.

I'll be sporting my 20* HG quilts, and I know I will be toasty warm.

I am working on getting Hermit to come with me. I think he'll be there friday with me.
