I was there a couple weeks ago but I didn't notice if the sign was down or not.

If you are coming from the south on 107, start looking for Burrells Ford Road after you pass the Cherry Hill Recreation Area. If you come to the Fish Hatchery, you've passed it. Just the opposite for those coming from the north.

If I'm not mistaken, I can get on 107 around Sylva and head south. We will be just north of waynesville. Going to try my best to make it. This would be my first hang so sort of looking forward to it.
    Hope to see you there.

When I traveled to this hang I set my GPS for the Cherry Hill Recreation Area. After driving by it I just watched the GPS and Burrells Ford Rd showed up on the left, no problem.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Can I get a little clarification as to where I will be meeting everyone. I see the Burrells ford campground trail and parking area on google maps. Do I hike down this trail to the campground?

Or do I drive past this and and take the right at the Chattooga trail and hike towards Ellicot rock. And is there parking here?

    thanks,

Yes take the Chattooga Trail towards Ellicott Rock. We will be in the huge area just before you cross the footbridge at the East Fork. There is parking past the campground just before the bridge.

about a mile and a half down the trail. You can't miss it, the trail will take you into a huge wide open area, that's the spot. There will likely already be a few people there. But if you come to the footbridge you are at the spot. Pick a place to hang anywhere before you cross it. The parking is on the side of the road at the trailhead. Basically anywhere before you cross the bridge, or you can cross the bridge and there is a small parking area on the left. No fees.

You'll see parking areas around the trailhead before the bridge. Look for the info kiosk and the trail is beside that. There are no fees for this area and it's 1.7 miles to the camp site.

Looks like we were typing this out at the same time. You've got faster fingers
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
