For those wondering if it's ok to show up and if there is room for one more, the answer is a huge YES!
The place where most of the activity is centered is the size of two football fields with more trees to choose from than you can shake a stick at.
There are probably 20 or more fire rings so just find one and hang close to it. Many people will gather around one large one.
As for being new, we all were at one time and this group welcomed us with open arms .
That has not changed. If you are on the fence, please come.

It was mentioned earlier, but here's a bump - dakotaross and I are hiking the Foothills Trail for a couple of days, so anyone interested in joining, c'mon. dakotaross has the itinerary, so maybe he'll weigh in here.

I will be heading in that direction I'm on the southside, Fayette county.
I'm not sure if I can make it on Fri may have to come up Sat.

We may join the FHT hike. My daughter, Rebecca, will be with me. We are going to hike the whole next week, as she is prepping for an AT thru hike next spring.

Hope you and your daughter join us; that would make five.

Last year kk4df and I set up down the slope away from the tents at Woods Hole shelter and snoozed right through when a bear paid a visit there in the middle of the night looking for food.
