Puts things in perspective for the folks pushing about $1000 worth of gear for starters... Nice one. Thanks!

I laughed when I looked at your first setup to what you have now. In the past 8 months you have went from a Walmart hammock to making 12 hammocks and 6 tarps and hanging hi and dry with your cuben fiber and ultralight setup.

Along the way you have brought about 6 people with you into hammock camping!

Good job. Forum members thanks for all your good tips. All your tips and tricks have helped a bunch. Also it's nice talking to my son about this stuff. Something in common to discuss and mess with for the best.

I told Viper about Shug a year or so back and we watch and learn and laugh with Shug as he entertains and educates.

    Thanks to all of you.

Evidently, what doesn't kill ya just gets ya a tad misty. My first good storm in a tarp was, refreshing. The biggest soaking I got though was a tarp that was just covered on the underside with water. My perspiration? Condensation? I don't know. What I do know is when my foot slipped getting out of the hammock and I rocked back and then swang up and kicked the tarp? THAT was a rainshower at 40 degrees I could have done without.

Not gonna lie, I basically tried to do the same thing this weekend for my first time with ratchet straps, a screw driver and a tire iron. Needless to say it didn't happen. I guess if it hadn't been 40 plus mile an hr winds and pouring rain I might have tried it.
