Can you over do bottom insulation?

It seems to me the answer is no, as someone explained it to me it is the "analogy of sleeping on your bed"....the under you is "consistent" but you adjust the top layer.....seems right....

I ask because I have a JRB 30 degree UQ that gets 'marginal" in early Spring and late Fall in New England area...

I have opportunity to "trade" + ( very minimal $ outlay) for a 5-10 degree JRB....other than a small amount of weight/bulk, no reason not to, correct?

Rather have a ? and not need it attitude, right?

I would do it... If you don't mind the obvious ...
Once you get the venting down, you have it made.. It is true that how much you trap the heat from the top will make the difference.. I can use my o deg. from 65 deg. and down easily..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

I've used my 20. deg up to 70 deg. comfortably. It should be fine.

I believe that, yes, you can. But...it's when the temp is above 65* F when going to bed. Above that, I don't usually have anything underneath me, as it's easier to regulate temperature with a top quilt at those temps.

Below that, I've not noticed a significant difference in comfort between under insulations, except when the temps dip below the insulations' ratings. YMMV, though.

Right, if it gets alittle too warm just loosen up and vent it and if it gets real cold snug it up and your covered.
    IMO its a no brainer
