    Western NC

Thought I would at least post once.

Started section hiking the AT with my son this year after being confined to only doing day and overnight hikes while we waited for him to get old enough to do longer trips (Mom finally lostened the apron strings when he hit 13). We both just recently ditched the tent and started using WBB1.1's and Edge tarps. We'll never go back to the ground.

This is a great site and resource and helped us make our choices.

Thanks to everyone for being willing to share!

WELCOME! to the high-life, from up the road in Danville, VA.

My youngest daughter's that same age and loves camping. Don't miss a chance to make memories that'll last forever.

Oh and BTW, around here, we don't believe anything you say unless you can back it up with pics! Just sayin...

    seeing is believing......

Fair enough. Let's see if this uploaded.

From this spring - to check out our new hammocks/tarps - right before starting at Springer for our first section.

TallPaul - just up I77 from you at the foothills of the Brushy Mt's.

Welcome from down at the coast. And a big roger on not going back to the ground! Hammocks are so much more comfortable.

Looks like you aren't at the hang in the mountains this weekend - perhaps you'll come to the Uwharries first weekend in November.

We have been wanting to attend a "hang" ever since learning that there are such things Perhaps we can drop in on the Uwarrie event.

Nice to see so many other NC residents on this forum.
