    Which Cheap Tarp?

I need help with choosing a tarp for the HH Deluxe Explorer I bought from Hangnout. I will mainly be motorcycle camping with a Goldwing so ultra light and ultra small is not a big factor. I live in Oklahoma, horizontal rain from thunderstorms are a distinct possibilty so I was wanting something big enough so that I can close the ends. I will not be camping in the winter. And last but not least price is a factor, I don't really want to spend more than 60.00. I will probably be using it 3 or 4 weekends a year. No backpacking for this old fat man.

I have seen several that will probably work and was wondering which one to buy. Don't hesitate to suggest others that I may missed if they they would work. Thanks In Advance!

If you need side protection, I would steer away from the guide gear tarps like the one at bargainoutfitters. It's a good tarp, but not much in the way of side protection. The first one looks like your best best although 10' only allows you 5" of coverage on each end (assuming the 10' is the finished size). Personally, I would spend a few extra bucks and go with a Speer Winter Tarp or a MacCat Deluxe or Ultra.

REI has some cheap/heavy tarps that will probably serve your needs. This one has a 12' ridge so you should be able to 'close' it fairly easily and it's $50.

The Explorer is big. You'll need a tarp that's long enough along the ridgeline.

This would do the trick for you: Guide Gear Sportsman's Tarp

I've got the HH Hex Tarp (not the sil-nylon version. Found it at The Hammock Company's website for around $50.

The Claytor diamond tarp for $45 shipped would match up well with the Explorer.

Very happy with the 10x10 tarp I got from here (paid $36)

    http://www.bigrockoutfitters.com/

Looks like their prices went up a bit but a 12x10 is $47.50.
