Turk, how does that stove break down? I'm assuming you hike with it. Have any pictures of it collapsed?

could something like that be built out of (non galvanized) tin, such as ductwork sections? that is what it reminds me of.. a 12x10 duct with end caps. But im not a tin-knocker so dont know if they would even handle the heat.

You can make a non galvanized version quite easily, but it would need
to be quite heavy gauge to stand the temperatures. There are temperature
charts in my review to show you just how high the heat gets on different
surfaces of the stove. Kifaru makes a very popular collapsible model in
all steel but it weighs 2-3 times as much. Backpacking with these stoves
is about equivalent to packing a a small notebook binder for volume of the
stove. The chimney rolls down to about the size of the cardboard center
of a paper towel roll.
