Using a sleeping bag inside HH bottom cover

    Hi folks.

I have the HH supersystem bottom cover and would like to use it with a barrel style sleeping bag I have. Do folks have suggestions for how to secure the bag and make sure it is evenly spread out? Anybody have a suggested modification for this situation?

    Thanks

    W

are you suggesting to use the sleeping bag underneath the OCF pad in the HHSS for added insulation? not sure I understand your question?

WalMart sells a variety of tarp clamps that, while bulky, can be used. I've used them to hold a blanket in place in my WWBB. I also have a HH SS and have been fine with the foam pad and I added the reflective bubble pad for below 30 nights. It comes with cordage to keep it in place.

What I meant was to use the sleeping bag inside the undercover without the foam pad....the problem is that the sleeping bag sloshes around with nothing to hold it spread out....

You could attach some shock cord to the ends and clip on the same mitten hooks that the SS is attached to.

I would think you need to anchor it the same placed the pad or the cover are anchored. Each end and at the side tie outs. That means you will probably need to sew a few shock cord or similar loops to the bag. If it's a bottom entry you may need to figure out how to deal with the extra length...
    YMMV
