Do you leave a specific amount of cord on the tieouts all the time? If so, what length?

I do on one side...enough to use my Leki's poles to make an awning out of my MacCat. I'd say they are 5 ft long, the tensioners are say 1ft long, so total is about 6ft. Mine have clips on the ends so they can be removed and stowed in the stuffsack easily, or used with several other tarps. They look like this.

My ground tie-outs are somewhere in the neighborhood of 7' to 8'; maybe a bit longer. I don't really measure it. Like 2Q mentioned, the ability to make a front porch for the hammock with poles is an awfully nice option. I also like having 'extra' line if I need it for something. Push comes to shove, I can set the tarp very low and use the line for something else; like a stringer for the trout I'll be eating later.
Trust nobody!
Thanks guys. what about the ridge line? About the same?
My ridgeline lines are about 2' longer than my webbing on each end. So, about 12' to 13' with a Fig 9 by the tarp pull tab.
Trust nobody!
