In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer. [Albert Camus]
This looks basically like a bridge hammock without the spreader bars. He is using 2 attachment points (trees) at the head end to give the same result as a spreader bar. The foot end suspension seems to wrap around the second tree. Again this also produces the same result as a spreader bar. I think this design is going to greatly limit where you can pitch it as you need a sufficiently large tree for the foot end and two suitable trees the correct distances from the foot end tree and close enough together to anchor properly.
I wish the guy well with his project.

Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment. - Unknown
So now I would have to find 3 trees to attach to vs 2 and basically no spreader bars,,,think I will stick with my WB RR
I wish him all the best as well but $80 seems pretty steep. I mean maybe I'm spoiled with my BIAS WWM that is only $50, but he even states that kickstarter price to be $20 under retail.
Cool idea, but not for $100.
I have a ton of respect for an individual with belief enough in their product/business concept ect. to take a risk. It seems like these forums are rich with successful businesses started in a spare bedroom or garage, one hand-crafted product at a time.
I am less respectful of someone asking for their start-up costs to be someone else's money. Perhaps this is a flaw in my thinking. Plenty of MBA educated CEOs would probably tell me I am wrong.
My $0.02; which is more than I would donate.
It's an interesting idea, not. New one...very similar hammocks already available from Europe. I personally like to have a little sway in my hammock...get to be able to be rocked to sleep.

A hammock loses half it's appeal to me when you take away the ability to sway. It's a good idea and I'm sure many will like it.
I like the looks of this, though I'm not a bridge user. The need to find 3 trees doesn't seem to me to be a problem, as the head trees can be different distances from the hammock. I used to hang my dog's hammock from a second tree at one end, and I never had trouble finding a place where his hammock would be close enough to be under the tarp with me. Also, the foot end probably doesn't need an extremely large tree, as somebody feared. This is based on my experience with my right angle hammock, and I won't explain it here, but I feel a good spread to prevent shoulder squeeze is important, but ankles are narrower. The kickstarter description sounds more like a business plan than the sort of wishful thinking you sometimes see there.
So how the heck are you supposed to rig your tarp with no tree in the center for the ridge line? It just shows a little illustration, but no details. He will need to work that out first before it can be looked at as a viable alternative to whats already available(at least to me anyway). His permanent wedgy looks like a cot.
