The differential cut vs. DWR down

Do you folks think the differential cut, contoured baffles used in HG UQs makes a noticeable difference?

I am torn between Full length UQs Underground Quilts Zeppelin 20° and the HG incubator 20°, the UG Zeppelin uses DWR down which is also nice to have here in Michigan.

    What do you folks think?

Oh by the way this will be my firs UQ

Our chambers are fully differential cut in both directions. We redesigned our UQ over the summer increasing to 11 chambers, revising differential design, and revised suspension as well as introduced new illume15 DWR fabrics. Also offering new ARD+ standard on all quilts, a second generation DWR down with 5-6 time the resistance to moisture as the award winning ARD from 2012.

So the HG UQs seem to have more sag in the torso area than the leg section I think I may really like that, are your UQ done this way Paul?
I really want to get one of your quilts for 2 reasons, 1 I love the DWR fabric and down, and I want to support a fellow MI man.

Nope my understanding is leg shelf is patent pending design so you can either have the leg shelf or DWR+ Down and IDFL tested DP fabrics but it seems you can't have both...

Well that's a good answer, I think with Michigan rain The DWR is a bigger deal.
I have been struggling with this choice for what seems like for ever.

Really it's what you want to pay for: less weight or hardier gear and insurance.
I'm probably the clumsiest/unluckiest camper out there. I've fall in lakes/streams, had a tarp fail in the middle of a rain storm, dumped a whole water bladder in my pack but never has my down failed me. Dwr fabrics and a pack liner have done me very well. Both vendors have their quirks but come highly recommended and produce excellent gear. Really you can't go wrong. Your choice: lighter weight or better insured.
    Directionally challenged...comicly so.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.

Fantastic! I was just trying to figure out last night if your quilts were dif cut or not, and was not able to do so, so thanks for clearing that up!

Is that for TQs also? Not sure if anyone is dif cutting their TQs or not. Seems more important with the UQ which needs to be pulled snug against my back, as opposed to a TQ which will just settle down lightly on top of me.

Hey Todd, whatever you decide to get I'm sure it will be great.

Also, since I hike with you a lot I hope to get an underquilt very soon as well and will be checking these ones out.

    I didn't realize UGQ is Michigan-based, that's very cool!
