Okie Hebrew Now Also Okie Hanger

    Hey all,
I just recently got into hanging, as I love camping and the outdoors, but tents and sleeping on the ground can be a major drag.

I'm currently in the middle of my first week of a week-long nightly hang, as it's the Jewish holy day (actually holy week) of Sukkot: the Festival of Tabernacles. During this time, Jews are commanded to dwell in temporary dwellings for the week to recall their Exodus from Egypt. It's a back-to-nature Jewish holy time that I always look forward to. This year, I've never slept better by keeping the holy week in my Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater with an ENO Pro tarp.

Anyways, furthermore, I work as an internet marketing consultant for neXrm Solutions, I'm a content contributor for Currentland Magazine (Oklahoma music, arts, and green living), and I'm an author with Kefar Publishing - a Karaite Jewish publication. I also play bass guitar in a jazz-funk-reggae jamband called Move Trio.

Nice to be a part of the community! I look forward to hanging with you guys.

    Hello Keno,
Welcome to the community and to the hammock life! Not may of us can satisfy any aspect of our traditional and official religious requirements/beliefs by getting out in a hammock and under a tarp, so good for you! Hooray for "Sukkot: the Festival of Tabernacles", and as a Southern Baptist that is one I wish we also kept! Maybe I can talk 'em into it!

( Oh, BTW, just in case you didn't already know it: try not to get off into religion- or politics or guns or military and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. If you get off into religion lightning bolts are automatically sent through the cloud to your keyboard! ) But otherwise, discuss whatever you like!

There will be no religious arguments in here. I'm up for spiritual discussions, but I probably won't start them.

    Welcome from Indiana!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."
