Awesome. I was wondering what to do for a sled. I googled the jet set jr and found them for 30 bucks on amazon, seems like a good deal, is it your experience that these are a good size for our gear loads? This will be one of the cheaper purchases I need to make before the Winter NEHHA.

The jet sled jr looks to be a good setup. It is also the same sled that Shug uses. The nice thing is that they are pretty durable and thick walled. So you don't have to worry about them breaking out in the piney woods.
Lastly if you have a Dicks sporting goods they are like 34.99 at the store.

is that also where you got the fin kit?

I got all the hardware from skipulk.com. I got the poles and the channel kit, along with the fin kit. No tax and no shipping. Which was nice. They also came in quick.

Nice! I wish I had the funds to build one. Oh well, there is always next winter!
Yeah normally I wouldn't be able to but by moving I have been able to make some good money selling some parts from a k5 blazer tear down that I haven't touched in over 4 years.

these are the sleds we used to make our pulks- cost total was $40 with the sled. we drilled extra holes, weaved heavy duty cordage around the whole top and used 1/2in PVC piping carabinered onto replacement backpacking belts.
it's not high quality but we are not planning on doing any expeditions :0)

===> I have designed, but not yet installed, a pair of rear fins which will retract if being dragged over a log, for example, then return down. They could be disengaged and locked in the retracted position if on flat ground. No need to cut slits into the bottom of the sled allowing wetness Into the sled.
I will try to get them installed by the winter hang.
