I figure with this many people going I could ask if someone has a ULA circuit backpack, and could they bring it for me to check out. I have a 4.5 pound REI one that is too easy to pack the kitchen sink in.

It is now not looking to good for me in attending this hang. I have other things that have come up and the six hour drive to get to the hang is really becoming the deciding factor in this.

I pick up a second job in the winter running a snow groomer at a ski resort on the weekends. So, I'm typically pretty busy in the winter. This year I went to a bigger resort (Stratton Mountain in Vermont) and I'm working more hours than the past years. Like the $$$ though

===> I use an REI Flash 65 in the winter. 2 lbs empty, and I can remove stuff to make it lighter. Almost equivalent to the Circuit. You can check it out at the hang if you want. Nice pack!

===> Great! Try making a 1,2,3 shortbread in it! 1 part sugar, 2 parts butter, 3 parts flour. Any flavorings you like - I love using Almond Extract, but try Vanilla as well! Combine the butter (softened) with the sugar first, then slowly add in the flour, then any additions (flavorings, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate shavings, etc).

Hang the DO a little higher than normal, so it takes a little longer to bake.

Cut it while it is still pretty warm - it's harder when fully cooled. I sometimes drizzle melted chocolate, or a powdered sugar/milk glaze over the top.

Your tongue will throw a party for your mouth!
