    Now I Want One

For weeks I've had the new hammock bug to come and go. Dream Hammock was never on my list, then I looked at Thunderbird and realized it's a one price for a lot of components. I wanted a setup with a lot of accessories to ditch and include base on the trip. (Think bug net, wind sock, etc.) After examining the Thunderbird, I want it. I don't want a complete hammock setup to exceed 2 pounds and this including the tarp as well.

I'm starting at the Thunderbird, and working on the perfect fabric combination. Either just stick with a 1.1oz layer and go with it, or get the 1.8oz because I like that one color.. I'll keep reading about fabric combination and playing with the handy hammock calculator. It might be a gift for myself for my birthday or Christmas this winter.

I fought a similar battle last month. Now I'm order 622 can't wait for my T-bird to arrive!
    Good luck, happy stewing!

Can anyone vouch that the 1.8 ounce fabric with Taffeta is more comfortable than a ripstop 1.1? If it's more comfortable I might deal with extra ounces and order it. That night grid color is pretty freaking sweet!!

For many, it's 4.5oz well spent. For others........?

If you get the chance, jump in the car tomorrow and come up to the MI Hang. It's only 9hrs from Knoxville. I'll have a few up there you can try out.

I saw somewhere that the poly taffeta didn't stretch and was therefore more comfy.
As for nylons: 1.9 has always felt better to me compared to 1.1. But that's ripstop from joannes (1.9) and thru-hiker (1.1).
    I'm 165# by the way.

    I can.
I find the touch more comfortable than my WBBB. Even the lay is better for me, though I doubt that is attributable to the material (alone).
