Use iPhone to set 30 degree angle

I down loaded the latest os for my iphone and found that if you go to the compass swipe to the next page there are these two circles. If you hold the iPhone perfectly flat one is over the other and shows 0 degrees. As you tip the iphone the circles separate and give you the degrees your iphone is tipping. Now you can use your iphone to achieve the perfect 30 degree hang angle.
And now you know the rest of the story.

And if you don't have iOS 7 yet, there is a free protractor app in the App Store that has a "transparent" mode that overlays the angles on the scene from the camera...

Just search "protractor" in android app store. There is a free app that works good, you can calibrate on the fly too.

    Iphone hang angle

===> I have an app called the"iHandy Level" on my iPhone, although I have never used it to hang. Maybe I will test it out at the Great Pumpkin Hang coming up in NH shortly.

Yes, there are many out there. The one I've been using is a free app called Laser Level, and it's quite accurate. It uses the camera to superimpose horizontal & vertical "laser" lines over the image - real handy for leveling pictures, posts, etc. It will also show degrees of tilt, like you'd use to measure your hangle.

Rumor has it that the ultimate hang's app will have a built in angle feature.

I still prefer the low tech method: Make a gun shape with your hand. Tip of the thumb to the first knuckle of your pointer is 30*....at least on my hand.
