Its hard to tell how you will be. Only experience will tell. Will probably come down to whether your a hot or cold sleeper. Make sure your protected from the wind. Bottle of hot water in a sock will help if you need it.

The sleeping bag would probably have a comfort level of about 30 degrees so, unless you are a warmer sleeper, I would think you would be pretty cold when temps down in the teens.

I would say that if you do not have some type of top cover for your hammock, you might be chilly.

You can always bring a foam pad for underneath for a boost to your UQ.

A down vest over the footbox of the sleeping bag and down jacket and non-compressible fleece inside may boost the bag enough to get by.

Teen temps are a good test for your gear, but I prefer to do that kind of testing in the backyard so I can bail!

ya....that would have been nice to try before we go....not going to be the case.....

may be doing jumping jacks from 3 to 5 am to stay warm! ...lol

I can bring a Thermareat pad fro UQ......and maybe some type of fleece blanket to keep the warmth in?

I like the coat over the feet idea....my feet get cool.....will have toe warmers(hot hands) that stick to your socks....will be bring them.

dress for warmth as well as using your bag and Uq. You can add layers to the body to add for warmth. If you get too hot,,you can peel a layer off.

Also throwing a nalgene bottle of boiling hot water into your sleeping bag right before you go to bed as well as keeping it in their with you throughout the night will help you stay warm. Just insulate the bottle so u don't burn yourself.

I remember my first night hanging in the winter time. I had a zero degree UQ and TQ and was dressed properly but froze my butt off because I did not get to know my gear or its limits before using it in the woods. Dumbest thing I think Ive done in the woods cause it was the Coldest night sleep of my life. Thx goodness I was at a group hang where friendly hangers gave me tips for the second night which kept me toasty warm.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I've been testing my winter setup at home, while trying to stay in the double digit range. Wearing only a heavy weight fleece base layer, I've managed to sleep comfortably into the low teens with my 20° down Kelty mummy bag, lined with a military poncho liner. I would think a fleece blanket would work similar. I'm a warm sleeper so YMMV. Also, pair a pad with your underquilt, a warmer backside is always good.

+1 on the hot water bottle before you get into bed. Before I started doing that, I would always start off with cold feet and a chill on my back, eventually I would warm up.

Look for down booties at thrift stores.
$2-3 bucks, 4-5 ounces, lots of additional warmth.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.
