Well, less than 7 days and I will be up in the high Uintas wilderness area on the hunt. Wont be hunting, just a great time to get out and do some cooler weather hiking and camping. Will be near Whitney Reservoir and hope to do a little hiking and maybe set camp atleast one night up Christmas Meadows near Amethyst lake, elevation between 8700ft and 10700 ft. Usually when it gets into the 30s I ground sleep since that is all my JrB quilts were good for, but after a little saving, I opted to try winter hammocking! I'm psyched even thinking about it, been watching shug's videos on youtube, other hammockforum members videos, doing some research, and reading the hammocking book. Labor day weekend ordered a 0* incubator in multicam, 1oz overstuff, long. As well as a 0* burrow in the raved about Argon Brown, again 1oz overstuffed and long, with a sewn foot box. Figured I could save a little weight and money going with the argon on the top quilt since with the multicam under quilt and camo WB superfly, my setup is a little stealth already. I knew from previous research that the HG team could work some magic with a sewing machine but man are these things amazing! I will be placing another order soon from you guys. This weekend I am going to attempt a small hike near a local ski resort 10 miles away (which FYI got a little snow last night!) and mock up the gear and spend the night to double check everything, but with what I have seen so far, I am not worried one iota.
Here are the obligatory photos, thank you again to the hammock gear team!
