    Heaven's Gate (Ontario Canada)

I thought I would put up a quick thread regarding the Heaven's Gate trail I completed this past weekend. I'll post up the photos now and tracks and add in more info (and videos) later on when I get a chance.

    A quick summary;
The trail is ~42.6km long, goes from South of Massey Ontario and comes out in Whitefish Falls Ontario. Although reasonably marked, it is some of the roughest terrain, bushwhacking, and hills one could expect in this area. It takes 4 days to complete, although we had thought about doubling up the third and forth (which would have been killer).
This was my first hammock camping trip, which saw heavy rain and fog, cold nights and some amazing views.
I will admit, I was a bit appointed that we had cell coverage in some areas, including camp 2 and 3.

Day 1 photos (Note: It poured rain the last 3/4 of the hike, and through out the night. This was my camera, so no that is not me in the photos.)

Hint, there is a newly placed geocache with a few unregistered trackables in it in this photo

Awesome pics! Sounds like one of those tough but rewarding outings. Gotta love those.

Thanks. It was one of those trips.
Only issue as a result is a knee problem I didn't know about. Think I have some damage that will need to be addressed.

Trying to upload the other pics. Having a few issues.

    Only 300ft climb

Some random lake in the hills (1000ft level)

    Fallen walking bridge (rotted out)

    Falls at bridge

First hang location (moved as it was on the edge of hill and the cold wind would have come straight up and under my tarp)

Final hanging location for the night (shot before dinner)

    Day 4 Photos (last day)

View from inside (hadn't left the warm sleeping bag)

An old Cabin a few hundred meters from our camp location

Inside the old cabin. The cross members where actually staked with wood stakes and not nails.

A forest fire had burned a strip past the rock we took a break on.

The camera mount I used this trip for some photos where I couldn't just reach and also strapped to a tree for the next self photo

Only self photo I have from the trip. Still waiting on my buddy to get his photos to me.

    Day 4 photos Cont.
(Note: GPS tracks attached, but needs the extension renamed to .gpx)

A little friend we hiked with for about a mile. He stayed about 20ft ahead along the trail.

A trek pole shot near the water on a random lake.

Getting into Day hiker area. Signs started appearing along the trail.

Another trek pole shot (using camera mount shown in previous post)

Last trek pole shot. Was playing a bit with my camera as it is waterproof.

    Someone was really busy.

    The end of the trail.
