I won't repost the video links that are above, but maybe they will help.... Anyways, the golite poncho has served me well. Poured rain on us this past weekend and it did nicely while I hiked 6+ hours in it without over heating and staying dry.

I also recommend the packa. Plus, when stuffed into its storage pocket, it is the perfect pillow.

Need some help deciding on a poncho.

I use my rain shell as a wind protector above tree line. Will these ponchos work for that as well?

Hey! The OP was looking for suggestions for ponchos. I provided one. If it doesn't meet your standards, you are free to move on.

All of the suggestions have been appreciated, noted, and some are of interest to me. I am trying to find out if any of these products do meet my standards. A simple yes or no to the question will suffice.

As I have looked through the links noted above, and many others, it is not clear to me if there are snaps on all four sides of some products thus the follow up question.

Most of these products are not carried by retailers in my area, leaving me to purchase sight unseen. A little more info before I drop the cash on something I have only seen in pictures and excellent videos that unfortunately do not clarify this particular point, by someone who knows would be much appreciated.

Anyone who has direct knowledge is encouraged to provide a short answer.

I just bought a Golite. It has 5 plastic snaps on each of the two long sides, so ten in all. Very lightweight, almost fragile-feeling, but tough.
If you don't experiment, you don't learn!
