crl or not crl?

I am about to make a ridgeline for my noah 16. I have it as a tarp for me and my son either for bunk beds or 3 trees. I know its big but its not a backpacking tarp.

I have debated one or the other. I have uses a 50' zing it up to this point with nite ize. I would like to construct a fixed solution. I have seen the ultimate hang and plan on using his v, but what are some of the successes or failures people have had with either crl over or under, or seperate rigs for each side?

I would especially like to see people who rigged tarps this big and any failures.

Just ordered my first dutchware... stingers. Gonna make my beastly tarp rig when they arrive.

Congrats on your Dutchware!
That and your Zingit should work great with your setup. Stingerz make a twopiece with loop around tree most easy to setup.
Also Might try a CRL over top of tarp if encountering any sag.

Prefer to use best suspension for the tarp, weather, and setup requirements. Actually use 2piece mostly. Sometimes use CRL.

so you just run tie outs from the ridgeline? If I had a small light weight tarp I may have considered that but with this tarp it wouldn't work.

I prefer the CRL over the tarp. It just makes it super easy to pitch and put away my tarp.

How so? I have the same question as the OP, just not as big of a tarp lol... I usually 2 piece it, but the CRL is popular, and curious how over the tarp is easier...

Putting the ridgeline above the tarp as opposed to underneath allows the tarp to flex properly and angle better down to the tieouts.

...or is that just cat cut tarps?
