My wife and I just got back from our first hang. We started our hike at 1:00 on Friday, we hiked Browns Run trail in Haneyville, pa to Pine Creek. We set up camp at 4:00 just far enough away from route 414 that you couldn't see the road but close enough that you could still hear the occasional passing vehicle. We woke up around 7:00, made a fire and breakfast then started packing back up. Just before we were ready to hit the trail again, my wife (Chrissy), looked up and spotted a bear. It happened to be one of the largest black bears I've ever seen in the woods. Then after about a half an hour of watching it watch us from about 75yds we decided to head out. We finished the 1000yds or so of the browns run trail to 414 and the headed up the Jack Martin trail to the Button road which comes out on the Zink Fork / Francis Farm road. It Ended up being about 11.5 miles total. It was very fun and we will have a hard time waiting until next spring to get back out and continue our new hobby/adventures.
