    Journal of Vermont's Long Trail

I want to do a thru hike probably some time next year, and the closest to where I live would be the Long Trail. I live near Montreal, and could get to the Canadian border in about 3 hours. I was wondering if anyone wrote or can find a journal about hanging on the LT ? I would be especially interested in the northern portion, as this is what I would be doing (From border to Burlington), but I love reading trail journals so any portion of the LT in a hammock will be a fun read.

I looked on trailjournals.com, but you can't really filter the ones that are in a hammock and the ones that are ... ground camping

I, too, have looked at the Long Trail with longing in my eyes.

    Try this guy:

He shares some good info on various things hiking.

It was a conventional opening, the equivalent of straying off the path in the wild woods in one age, or a car breaking down at night on a lonely road in another.”

You could also send a PM to LazyRiverRoad, he thru'd the LT using a hammock.

You can also contact Yukon here on the forums. I believe he has done a thru-hike a least once and sectioned it a couple of times. Check with him.

I'm within an hours drive of almost the entire northern section of the long trail and have sectioned almost all of it. If you need any help with food/mail drops/rides etc., let me know. I'm giving hammocking a second try this year.

Excellent! I'm not sure it will be this summer after all but it's good to know at least if I have questions :-)
