I guess I should call Grayson Highlands State Park, but I thought I'd ask - do they allow you to hang from trees at the tent campsites? I'm trying to figure if I need to take my hammock stands along?

I was there about a month ago and had no problem with hanging there. Full disclosure, I didn't ask if it was ok, but the camp hosts hung out at our site for a bit and didn't say anything about it.
They let us put on two big hangs per year. We (the hangs raffle donations) also donate to the Friends of Grayson. They seem to embrace us at the hangs. I think you are OK.

Thanks for the responses. I may take my hammock stands just as a backup but I'd prefer to hang from the trees.
We just got home from the Grayson Highlands Fall festival. We had a group of around 30-35 members all in hammocks, even had our own demo booth set up. So I would say yes, they don't mind hammocks at all. also it was beautiful up there this weekend. You'll love it this time of year...
It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!
Only hang as high as your willing to fall- H.F. member
I agree with VisionaryLion!
We had 35-40 people there for the fall festival and even let us do a demonstration at the festival. Hammockforums.net is a friend of Grayson Highlands.
