Welcome.
Yeah, couple hammocks, even "made for two", are made for things other than a good night's sleep.
Best advice I can offer is to spend a hot sweaty humid southern night laying on the ground pressed up against each other... This will cure you of wanting to sleep together in a hammock.
After that, you have it easy... Two hammocks... I'm guessing you'll have different tastes/needs there as well, so it's actually for the best... You just need to find 3 cooperative trees... hang the heads together, so you can talk, and let the feet fall where they may (hopefully close). The biggest challenge is actually tarping such a setup... if you use two tarps, it's hard to lap them correctly unless you know for sure which way any rain is coming from... One big tarp also works (though the head end will be a little weird) but maybe you could come up with a trapezoid that would work.
Good luck!
Thank you all, very much! And we're planning to attend the Burrells Ford Hang Oct 25-27.
Welcome from even further west... California!
I was going to suggest attending a group hang... but it looks like you're already planning on it =]

I dunno, it seems like it would be impossible for two people to get any sleep in one hammock. I've seen couples hammocking < is that a real word< side by side though.
You can still get close enough to punch and kick each other if your side by side in two hammocks too.
BTW. Welcome from New Hampster
